FOR THE LOVE OF "Starbucks Mugs"

She has a collection.

She marveled at the sight of it inside their house.

And so I am granting again another wish or shall I say humble request from her.

In one of our chat conversation through Facebook and before we flew in back in the Mid East, these were her wishes and humble requests.

“Jay, don’t forget my mugs from the Mid-East ha!, don’t have any of them yet, plus, the “ref magnet” pahabol at nakangiti niyang sabi.

Who would resist granting these requests if the favor comes from someone as sweet and bubbly as my good friend Kay? I bet no one would especially if the request comes from her tender voice and disarming smile. Naks, disarming talaga..hahaha!

And so, after a series of reminders and a number of routing busy streets of Dammam and Khobar for canvassing I had finally purchased it. And the lucky Starbucks store was – STARBUCKS – Corniche . A place by the seaside which still forms part of Al Khobar. It resembles like our Roxas Blvd. kind of place.

Honestly, I was a bit worried a week back since I don’t know yet if the mugs are still available in one of the Starbucks store me and my work colleague visited. I had these disturbing thoughts: “How if it runs out already? How if they don’t have any more stocks? How if they won’t have it for a longer period?

But last night's sight of it didn’t disappoint me. It’s a perfect timing and a great opportunity when we (my wife and cousin’s family) had our night out -- a dinner treat.

After our dinner at Dhahran Mall, we felt the need to take a coffee. And we didn’t waste our time by driving fast to the nearest Starbucks in the area. It’s past 11pm already. We reached the store but to our surprise, the store cashier informed us that whatever we order we should take it out. His perfect words were these:  “All orders are to go” – which he means “for take out”. Magsasara na kasi ang store, we were surprised kasi usually 2am ang closing nila. We didn’t do a further probe. Good thing, I was able to easily take a sight of the mugs and suddenly took out money from my pocket to pay for what I have in my hands.

We ended going out of the store coffee-less. We decided to head on without a “to go” coffee in our hands. While inside the car, we’re busy discussing and arguing where to go for a coffee and we ended-up in Le Meridien Hotel. Biro mo yon, mangangape lang sa Le Meridien pa..sosyal na talaga..hahaha. I’ll have a separate entry for Le Meridien Hotel experience.

So here’s what I’m talking about --- the elusive hunt for these kinds of Starbucks mugs…hahaha! Kay! You know already  how will it reach you, so just stand by..hehehe..

Starbucks Mug with "Riyadh" word to it all the way from KSA

The set of two demitasse mugs -- another addition for her collection.
And this is "For The Love of  Starbucks Mugs".

  7. That's so sweet of you! I honestly can't see myself do that or someone do that for me. I guess this post sort of reminds me to believe in the power of sincerity and friendship more.
