The Poetry Corner - Invisible Appearance Of A Tired Heart

Recently, I have been in a very emotionally-drenching situation. Sometimes, no matter how we project ourselves as a strong person, there are occasions where we're beaten by melancholy. There are those times where we submit ourselves to loneliness, just to feel again that we are human and that we are not as invincible as the superheroes in films. Well, for me it's good though that once in a while you recognize yourself as a plain human with normal emotions and candid reactions to events and situations that are presented to us. Vulnerability is not a bad thing after all. Being one, once in a while helps you re-affirm of your being an earthly creature. And here's what I'm into these past few days. I just transcribed it into a poem. Just read between the lines.

Invisible Appearance Of A Tired Heart

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
In the deepest of night I was unbearably bothered
Why am I in my state of suppression and depression?
I always wanted to cry-out loud and quit with life
But suddenly a thought has made me crippliest of crippled-like

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
I've always wanted to reach out to communicate
To end up my lie-low emotion and widening gap not to create
But I was deeply drowned with paranoia and hate
To catch up, rejuvenate to wonderfully communicate

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
In the shadow of darkness of my shattered dreams
Cheer me up oh dear God coz I'm in my lowest esteem
My wings are broken and strength should be regained
Help me fix and fuel them coz I alone won't fly again

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Help rekindle my weak spirit cast a guiding light on it
Your friend is aching with the harshness life brings
Am I that bad to suffer with all these cruel things?
Or just wasted and delinquent with some other's feelings

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Please share a lift, teach me some balance of my heavy loads
Cast out some uncertainties in my drowning spirit
I am in oblivion and can hardly stand with it
Badly in need and thirsting of your unsolicited advice in bits

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Your friend now lost his zest and drive for life
Kindly polish my soul with your magnificent wit
I might be awakened and make a sound rebound
To make up for the friendship stronger and in constant ground

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
My apology please accept for slight negligence
I just woke up one day and the mess is here
I always tried to cope-up but the spirit is low
I ended up failure and now in demeanor

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Do you think I still have a place in your world
Are you still in constant belief that I can still make up for the mess
I do hope your response will gear me up sooner
God, you are the last and the best of all my frontier

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Does this man still has a place in your friendship?
I have been inactive and neglected my physical presence
But I won't forget a wonderful bestfriend you're no.1 on the list with essence.

Hey God! what's up? here I am, are you still there?
Is your friendship's door still open for my renewed entrance?
I may have deprived you of my constant appearance
I may have not showed-up for several months
But I am always at your side with my invisible appearance.

  1. Hey What's up? Here I am, are you still there?

Hmmmnnnn... parang tanong din ni Papa God sa ating lahat ang question na ito.
Daddy Jay, parang yung ending is an assurance kay God na you are always around. Good to hear. Sure naman ako jan kasi you are a man of God's wisdom.

Akala ko you started asking na sa presence ni God eh, paulit-ulit kasi ang pagtatanong...

Maganda ito. Well written na naman.

    Fave ko 'to:

  7. ang ganda koyah, while reading it may narerember lang ako..

once my later mother told me... you pray before you go to work, ask for strength, more patience and yong hindi ka makakasakit at makakatulong ka...

i did because thats what she said...

    what i have observed then?

whenever i go to the office, i pray sa sasakyan na sana today will be a productive day to me, hindi ako makakasakit at makakatulong ako... thats always my prayer and...

lately i shared that experienced to one of my mentors and she said "its really a test" sabi ko oo nga no kasi if i pray parang sinasadya ang mga mahirap na kaso ang darating kapag hindi naman ako nakapagdasal, wala namang ganon.

despite of nawala na ang mama ko, i am not a church person sa totoo lang but i believed him, hindi nawala ang faith ko kaya siguro kahit silently ngayon, may enough strength ako para labanan ang buhay.

  9. nice a very sensible poem that is jay,
    well ganun naman talaga
madameng katanungan nga papasok sa isip natin sa panahon ganto,
    madalas walang kasagutan
    mukang walang patutunguhan
at parang nakakawala ng pag asa

pero one thing is for sure everything happens for a reason, and that reason was according to god's will, and god's will is never about what we need or what's better it was always for the best

  12. Mecoy - You're so right! Everything happens for a reason. And God has His reason why such things happen to us. We just have to unfold what's the wisdom behind it. Thanks parekoy!
