Of Life's Moments, Of Celebration, Of Drooling Foods and Supportive Community Friends

The Birthday Girl
Her name is JENNIFER ZABALA

Call her "Jeng" as her nick.

She maybe the first one who will be my pioneering entry about “Birthday Celebrations Of 2014” but surely she’ll not be the only one in the coming days and months. I decided to feature birthdays of people in our spiritual community – well for those I am fully aware of because obviously I don’t know everyone's birthday in our community – just to step up my commitment to the core group where I belong and share life with. I’d like to call it as my “extra love” in letting them feel how they matter to us in our community.

Walking down memory lane, she's one of the coolest SFC ladies I've met here in our place five years ago. (SFC ladies are under our umbrella as well as SFC men. We both shepherd them as the task was assigned to us a year ago). Her unassuming and mild-mannered personality are two of the adorable traits I admired about her. She's the kind of person that won't talk that much/too much when not ask to. She'd remain as the listening ear to everyone and won't steal the limelight inappropriately. She'd always flash her disarming smile every time you come across her anywhere. She's just one happy soul we're privileged to be brushing off shoulders every now and then. She's naturally skinny that's why our usual tease to her is to gain more weights - and as usual she'll just laugh it off - haha!

If I may hit it right, she is working as Pharmacy Assistant II in the same hospital where my wife works. Apparently, that's where the friendship down to the closeness begun with them and eventually to everyone. And our community is witness to the amazing journey each of us have had.

Having community friends celebrating in one's birthday is just so wonderful to witness. The cheerful chit-chat, the happy faces - all flashing a contagious smile at everyone, and the camaraderie echoed in the four corner's of our living room. This is how we are in our community and this is family to me and us.

Since she celebrated her birthday party in our house last night, this post will be treated a present to her from us. Thank you too Ta Jeng for being the generous ninang of Caleb. We both know that you'll be a great ninang to him - taking part in guiding him as he grows up.

Ta Jeng - it's awesome to be part of your life's circle, more so having you in our community. I'm pretty sure the rest of our community friends feel the same way as I do.

Once again, Happy Birthday to you and may your life's wishes be granted in God's perfect time. Keep the faith and let the passion for service keeps burning for life.

God bless you! We love you just as you are! :) :)

    1. Hahaha! And for sure you're eyes will drool out if I'd opted to post more food photos hahaha. Yes, masaya ang celebration dito. Iba ang bonding na nangyayari dito since we're so miles apart from each of our families back home. We treat each other as part of family here :) :)

    1. Yes Gracie, we're so blessed to have a community here, the celebration is more than what the celebrant offers, kasi may mga nagdadala rin ng share for the celebrants. Ang gagaling pa magluto ng mga pinoy here hehehe. Thanks for greeting her.

    1. I am proud of the community where I belong because it foster camaraderie and celebration of being together. And the foods, such a drool on. No wonder, madali tumaba ang mga tao rito. Madami kasi magaling magluto.
