What 10 Things Should I Do In The Next 30 Days - If They Were My Last

I am scribbling this now with every fraction of my writing soul in resentment with my lazy fingers and idle neuron. As I realizes the downright injustice these two have done for delaying some posts because of entertaining procrastination.

It's not yet my schedule to write another entry nor to finish a draft intended for a series of February posts.

At this moment, I am reading a "Talk Outline" - prepping up for another talk assignment given to me by one of our diligent SFC leaders.

But, I was like prompted with a cup of cold water slapping my face as I read my daily message from "GodWhispers". GodWhispers - is an online free subscription from the team of Bo Sanchez sending Godly messages with expressed disclaimer that reads:

Today's GodWhispers message to me reads like this:

Dear Jay,

Answer this question: What 10 Things Should I Do In The Next 30 Days - If They Were My Last?

I was a bit startled, shocked even. None from the previous messages had asked me such kind of question. As far back as I can recall, all that I received are messages of hope, strength, and encouragement. I don't hate it though. I just feel extremely surprised. So, I paused for a while and that momentarily halt led me to think a little deeper.

And so I thought - what if the next 30 days will be my last - I mean literally, if there is such a proximity. What are the things I'd be doing or making given a month in remaining time. At the height of thinking, I find it hard to narrow down things that's rushing into my brain - each one forcing an entry in it  - trying to squeeze in to be included in my list. I feel like ideas are running in sprint just to be counted in.

With extra weigh in, and careful consideration, I finally come up with the ten things being asked for. I'll narrow down from number ten going to number one. And here they are:

---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
10. I'd book a ticket and fly to two of my top priority destinations - PRAGUE - The Czech Republic and SANTORINI - Greece. I'ld be traveling alone. If you're going to ask why I won't bring my family. I'd be spending time alone to contemplate with my life. Evaluating my performance on earth as a human being. Of course, I'd be savoring through sight-seeing of exciting landmarks, beautiful landscape, and majestic architecture of the two mentioned places.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
9. Since travel always fascinates me, I'd bring my wife and kids to the breath-taking and picturesque BATANES - this slice of heaven is perfect to bond with my family. To cherish the moment without telling them that I'd be gone after 30 days.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
8. To put order into my life, I'd be telling my wife all that she has to know regarding some assets including all the passwords of my online accounts. If you'd tell me why I didn't disclose all to her. Well, for security reasons, I would like to have something to leave them just in case, things got worse and finances screw up - sort of like their back-up and saving graces as well.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
7. I'd be visiting as many churches as I can - especially the old ones - and pray in each one of 'em. Light a candle in each altar.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
6. Climb a not-so-high mountain. I want to personally experience how it feels to be at the peak of a mountain. And I will do it with only a personal guide to accompany me.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
5.  I will meet with close friends and hang-out for one whole day - engaging in a sensible convy, laughing-out loud by remembering our old times, savoring the finest foods ordered in a fine dining restaurant and I will tell them how I value them. Lastly, before they leave my house, I will give each one of them a letter. In that letter, I'll chronicle how our friendships started - the downtimes we have had and the great moments we had shared. And I will honor each one of them for their presence in my life.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------
4. I will set up a meeting with my former English teacher - the one who had the most influenced in my schooling life. I will honor her for the great mentoring she had done to me and my classmates. But I won't tell her anything about my soon departure on Earth - to make our meeting in a merry mode. Of course, I don't want her to cry if she realizes that I'll be gone in the coming days.
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------

3. I will post my last blog entry intended to those I unintentionally hurt. I will seek apology and say my sincere sorry if I offended them without my knowledge. I don't want to leave the earth with people still harboring grudges to me (though wala naman yata as far as I am concerned) - ang hirap noon baka di ako maka-akyat ng heaven haha!
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------

2. As a guy who doesn't like to party that much, I will throw a very big party - a reunion party that is - inviting all my relatives. Of course, at my own expense. Even if some would care to share for the cost, I'll politely decline and would tell them that it's my way of thanking them for being part of my life and for being part of our big family. Isn't that sweet - though - tearjerker?
---------------------------------------oo0000oo--------------------------------------

1. Since I do love writing letters, I will write a very long love letter to my wife - assuring her of my constant and endless love. And at the very end paragraph, I will tell her of my grave condition BUT will fervently ask her not to shed tears upon learning my status quo. I want her full acceptance of my fate by asking her to pray for me.

These are the things that occupied the higher priority in my list. So, here's my challenge, if you were in my shoes, and your days are numbered, what 10 things should you do in a span of one month?

  2. Ayoko sagutin Dad. I mean, there are things that of course I want to list down pero mahirap mag lista ng ganyang bagay. Kakatakot. You might think I'm not barve enough? hehe.

Pero I've noticed that wala man lang na mag luluto ka sa listang yan. Lots of travels and meet ups though. The things on your list are very tiring just bu reading it, well, if 30 days would be the last then have a blast.

On your last day, doctor says "It's a joke Jay, like seriousssllly?" ahahah dammit

    1. LoLs, ok lang. It's not a tall command naman, just for those who are brave enough to say their side. Siguro, di na importante sa akin ang magluto pa hahaha.

Lot's of travels - Yes para for the last time (kuno) mapuntahan ko ang mga favorite kong puntahan. Meet ups kasi siyempre my days are numbered (kuno) na nga hehehe.

Ahahaha, if the doctor would say that "I'll thank him big time, kasi na push niya ako to do good things" hehehehe

  3. Kung gagawa rin ako ng ganito, siguro first din sa list ko yung pag-travel sa iba't ibang magagandang places dito sa Pinas.

Gustong gusto ko rin marating yang Batanes. Parang yan yung New Zealand of the Philippines. I remember yung docu ni Love Anover about Batanes over a year ago na yata yun, super ganda nung isang cliff dun na may pinapastol na mga baka and nakaharap yung place sa dagat.

I think, yan lng muna yung nasa list ko. Kulang pa ako ng 9 hihihi :D

    1. I failed to see your comment sa email ko that's why di ko agad na approve. When I went to the moderation page, dun ko nakita.

Iba talaga ang charisma ng Batanes noh, sobrang majestic and breath-taking ng place na yun. Kaya di talaga mawala sa isip ko.

You can do your own list too. Isip ka pa ng iba :) :)

    1. And that's a good decision Mommy Joy, spending the rest of your days with your loved ones is the most meaningful of all. :) :)

By the way, welcome home. Enjoy your stay.

  6. Thanks Gracie! You can also try doing the same in your blog. As Jun would put it, it's kind of crossing your border of fear but then again, why fear when you're in full trust with the Lord. :)

  7. Nakakatouch ang Number 1. Ako may spend time sa family and then yung mga last few minutes ko.. magkukulong sa kwarto. Pray and pray lang. :)
