The Unsuspecting Celebrant: Satt Cutanda

Saturnino – the name even if you haven’t met him yet signifies a tower of power. And in person, he is indeed a towering height. You’ll feel so small standing beside him that anytime he would turn into an incredible hulk he can quickly throw you away outside the window. But that’s not what he is made of- he is a GENTLE GIANT. A charming and disarming dude that was the apple of Tita Razel’s eye during our 2009 Midyear Assembly – in a Hawaiian inspired theme.  No wonder they ended-up together – haha.

I wouldn’t go back to where we had met or what’s the early memory I had with his company. What I am going to do here is to just honor this man – a brother in the community and a very dear friend. In fact, I consider him one of my best friends - if not the only one - I have here in the kingdom.

Of Friendship: Letting Go Of Some and Keeping Some For Life

Friendship - when started and nurtured in good faith remains for a long time and even for life.  Similar to anybody's life - friendship is tested and a few struggle can end up losing one and ending the relationship. 

I value friendship even if it’s still young – I guess this is one quality inherent in me that even if a person is just a fresh entry in my life's circle, I always treat them as if they’ve been in my life from the very beginning. This quality of mine also borders into danger because some may take advantage of the goodness.

But hey – even then what’s important is that you’ve been a nice person while you’re in the friendship.

Of International Camaraderie: The Sheikh & The Little Prince

Perhaps you might be thinkin' if the title really speaks for itself. I mean the real thing. And that I have met one of the Sheikhs here and his little prince. Hahaha! Brace yourself it's just my kumpareng Randy Turiano.

Earlier tonight, my wife and little C attended the "International Community Day" celebration annually held by the National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) - where my wife and kumpare work. It's a yearly tradition showcasing different cultures & traditions represented by employees of NGHA who hails from various countries.

Basically, its purpose is to promote international camaraderie and cultural diversity - showcasing some native stuff coming from each participating country. Allowing everyone to get to know more of other countries cultures and traditions. 

I didnt' bother to go with them since I'm quite lazy to go out due to the cold weather. Plus, I'm working on the plans for our upcoming "Family Day" wherein a brainstorming slash meeting will happen tomorrow to finalize the various activities for the said event.

An Answered Prayer

Perhaps, he might be thinking that I just pass on the chance to greet him and be joyful for another important milestone in his life knowing that I, together with many other friends and family alike, were in unison in wishing and praying that he will surpass his upcoming Board Exam then.

It’s like I totally shut down my world from him. If I were in his position, I too, will wander what’s goin’ on? Why my online dad didn’t even care now that I earnestly passed my exam?

The Awesome Blogger: March Edition - MEET Pao!

This post is kind-of inspired by watching the movie “Letters To God”. Maybe a bit, but the truth is, I just need some kind of a motivator, a propeller for my mind to set into the mood of writing and come up with a masterpiece tailor-fit post for him.

I don’t know, literally the movie has nothing to do with the person that I am going to feature for my March issue of  “THE AWESOME BLOGGER”. 

Oh! I know what’s running on your minds. Perhaps you might be thinkin’ like this, “Why there’s no February issue? What the heck? Well, let’s leave it at that. Let us assume it’s my prerogative to except the month of February since I was busy during my vacation and writing one, even selecting my feature, was really a difficult thing for me. My mind was focused on the meet-ups and all the (mis) great adventures hehehe!

A Reunion with Kay and Jeo: RESORTS WORLD – Newport, Manila

It was a meet-up we longed & waited for a year. Obviously not our first.

Finally it happened in a place I never knew (wow, taga ibang mundo lang ako haha!) – RESORTS WORLD.

We had our first meet-up way back year 2011. It was early December. The place was at Ayala Triangle in the famed business district of Makati.

I guess I just became a "Super Jay" tonight. I have done lots of things – posted two poems entries, wrapped the books for my blogger-friends, re-visited some of my laptop files and the list goes on. It’s really a feat so to speak. Added to that is the super uplifting worship songs that I keep on playing while doing these things.

While browsing my laptop, I came across several old videos. I opened each one of 'em and was delighted to watch again some funny moments of my night-out together with my WedSat Smashers Badminton Club. Here below is a funny moment classic.

Upon watching, it led me back to the memory of our food tripping to Paseo De Sta. Rosa in Laguna. It feels like it was just yesterday with them. We're about to leave the place after we have enjoyed eating, chatting, and lightly drinking when Ren suggested that we'd do a "Pinoy Henyo" game at the parking lot before we finally head home. And so, the above video is one of the funniest videos I've ever had that night. I was literally running out of guesses as to what's the answer on top of my forehead. 

That was epic! 

About Books, Of New Formed Friendship, and Of Personal Messages: BOOKS' RECIPIENTS

I have been meaning to post this entry a week back but due to my usual busy schedule it took a while for this entry to surface on the bloggers' world. 

Pardon me guys! I know there are lots of both interesting and gruesome topics that are too tempting to discuss or share views with but those are not my interest as of now. 

If you are a follower or a frequent visitor of this blog, perhaps you are aware that I had a blog contest recently. To be exact, it was in mid-November when I designed my birthday blog contest. 

As promised to the recipients (I'm talking about the winners), I will write/put a personal dedication message to each of the book as a gesture of a newly-formed friendship between the winners and me. BUT, it doesn't mean that having these personal messages limits my friendship to the winners. Of course, all my blogger friends are important to me. I'm just obeying a promise to them (winners).

About Honoring, of Thank You's, and of Gratitude: A Prelude Message Before My Birthday

Usually, when one celebrates a birthday, the celebrant is the one being honored -- that's the usual norm right?  (at least for us here in the Mid-East in our community-hehe). But today, let me put a twist in it. Instead of them honoring me for my upcoming birthday, I will be doing the favor as I will honor them who have been a blessing into my life. Family, relatives, friends, and acquaintances alike will be the focal point of this entry. 

Life has been so good to me. I never thought that a simple man in me will be bestowed with blessings so overflowing that I need to share. Ika nga sa kanta "So blessed I can't contain it, so much I gotta give it away" . Don't get me wrong huh? I don't keep the biggest material or financial blessings. What I'm trying to convey is the blessing that is abstract and cannot be seen by the naked eye. It's like the good will in business. Blessings (apart from the material ones) for me are the gift of life, family, friendship, work, and that of a community.
