What I've Been Into Lately?

Does anyone miss me lately?

Errrrr…my posts? Haha. Well, I had been so occupied the past week. As much as I wanted to write but reading both books and stock market updates & online tools had been the culprits for failing to give this blog some worthy posts.

Also reecently, I’ve been giving more time and attention to my stock market exposure as I’m gearing towards establishing a really strong fundamental and technical knowledge about it. I’ve been doing my own financial analysis plans, working on excel on the updates of my account, computing several valuations and target prices and stuff like that.

Plus, I have a financial exposure that if one would see will say “Oh, that amount is huge” or so I thought. Well, it’ll still depend on how one consider a huge amount. One reason why I'm so focused in monitoring over these stocks.

It's Called A Free Flow

Ever wonder why sometimes we’re left with no words or should I say specific topic to write. As if our tongue is tied or our mind is so cluttered that thinking of anything to write is impossible at the very moment we need to. Perhaps, it happened to you as it quite frequently happens to me.

So, I got a resolve on that. I want to fill that void in me that hinders my fingers to press the letters in the keyboard of my lappy.

And I want to call it as a “free flow thinking”. I will write whatever I think of as of the moment without regarding the sequential flow of thoughts.

And so here it goes.

I'm sipping a mug of green tea mixed with little sugar to satisfy my glucose need. Occasionally, peeking at our living room window right across the other building where a light is still visible at the wee hour of 2am.

Sunday's Reflection

In the middle of reading Paulo Coelho's "Like A Flowing River" I came across statements that definitely struck me like a lightning.

So, I pleasurably took photo of it. And if it's a real one - then - I won't mind being a victim. If that lightning brings refinement in my soul I would willingly subject myself in it.

Why? It is because it nourished my soul.

Of course, I won't let the day pass without sharing it to you.

And since I'm slowly detaching myself from excessive hours of exposure in Facebook, I decided to make it a blog entry. Why not? hehe!

Confidence Downdrops

It’s a sucker - a sucker of confidence that is.

I never saw it coming - never did. But it came - it's like it slapped me with a heavy palm. It happened - and it did tonight.

The convergence of misfits and errors really chillingly shivered me.

The technical didn't work the way it should supposed to back me up, the sheer exhaustion, the "no sleep at all" the night before - which I didn't intend to happen. Adding up to the injury is the unexpected nerve which really took me by surprise. Plus the timing of the talk. All these factors contributed to the down-dropping of my confidence.

The Day I Changed My Heart

Over the years, I must say ours is not the best relationship. That's a sad fact.

Many a time, I’ve been a hardheaded fool. There were days of heaven with you and days counting as hell.

I remember those days when we used to frequent the PICC grounds just to catch the early sunrise over Manila Bay. It was an energizer in my body and a comfy feeling for you as well.

Back then, our relationship was at its best. I can vividly recall how you'd be at my bed side when weekends come so that I'd not miss our regular weekend dates. I'd wake up as early as 4am or even earlier just not to miss a day without you by my side. Us - running together, striding up the dilapidated steps of Manila Film Center back and forth and ended up gasping for breath while laughing hard - because no matter how frequent we do the routine, I still gasp for air in the end.

What 10 Things Should I Do In The Next 30 Days - If They Were My Last

I am scribbling this now with every fraction of my writing soul in resentment with my lazy fingers and idle neuron. As I realizes the downright injustice these two have done for delaying some posts because of entertaining procrastination.

It's not yet my schedule to write another entry nor to finish a draft intended for a series of February posts.

Obstacles As Disguised Opportunities

I so miss my blog and writing of course. More so, I miss blog hopping - reading new posts from my blogger friends. Well, occasionally I browse some of my friends' entries but only for reading purpose minus the commenting. Like what I used to when I'm not ready yet to say any comment. I'd rather read and leave.

Negative Friends

Are you surrounded by them? Have you ever dealt with negative people before? If you have, you will know that the experience is quite a downer.

In our lives, we often encounter in our circle of influences those that belongs to the so called “negative friends” - often cynical, can't even smile with your ideas instead always finds a way to criticize them badly, too pessimistic most of the times and chooses destructive criticism over constructive. It's hard to have them around right?

It's not that you don't want to have a long time friendship with them but it's just that if they have nothing to say good to you, it's better not to discuss anything with them. Never talk about anything that you care about to a negative person, they will literally drain your willpower.

There Is No Easy Way Out Being A Christian

It’s 11:43PM now.

Surrounding's still cool brought about by the aftermath of a heavy sand storm a couple of days ago.

Changing weather is beginning to let its presence felt. By the way, weather is constantly changing from winter to summer now. And like anyone who complains about the hot season in Pinas, we too have our own share of agony here.

Too bad for us because the scorching heat of the sun can reach at a maximum of 50+ degrees. Imagine that? Would you want to still work in the Mid East?

Well, there's nothing to worry since all the houses here require good ventilation and a heavy duty airconditioning system.

Anyway, that's not my topic for tonight. This post is about some realizations. Of being a Christian in the most unChristian culture.

A Political Outburst

Generations of partakers in the elective process had grown to be a believer of the promises candidates have been audibly screaming in their platforms during caucus and campaign periods. But are these promises have meet ends?

You POLITICOS are elevating yourself as a public figure thus being a role model follows. But why are the things that you put into laws are the very same things you religiously break?

You keep saying, We'll do this! We'll do that! But I don't think you can fool us anymore.

You've told us do not fight with others, to work things out, to respect others, to share not to be greedy. Then why you yourselves are doing the things you've told us not to do?

We Always Have A Choice

What has life to offer me when I grow old”? - This is the first line of the famous song "Next In LIne of After Image (I don't remember which year) that literally hit me while thinking of the first thing to write about this post.

Quite sad isn't it? Well, I won't focus on the tear-jerking thoughts in here, though, maybe along the lines I may hit some emotions. But I'll try to make it as interesting and short as possible- knowing I'm a wordy guy. I wish I could have all the elements in writing to do all these. But heck! I'll give it a try.

Cliche tells us that "life is what we make it". I agree to it. We choose what we want, we choose our decision. Our daily existence is part of how we partake in the banquet of the world. There, we have plenty of choices - and WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOCE! which one to pick up or out, which one to pursue and which one to make our stand for. In life, we are presented with myriad of choices. Choices that sometimes fit or unfit our system.

Assorted Thoughts

Ideas keep fighting over an influential slot in my mind lately. Picture out those wrestlers ready to land their fake punches and throws to their opponents – that’s how I imagine these ideas are like. Full of ideas yet because of congestion no one succeeded to spring out into something worthy.

Plenty of ideas coming in, but I can’t expound, some suddenly go away without even staying for like an hour. Assorted – various, mixed, classified, multifarious or whatever will you call it.

Something To Smile & Be Proud Of - LOVE LETTER to FILIPINOS

Dr. David H. Harwell
Below is a "LOVE LETTER" - not about a typical boy/girl relationship but it digs deeper than that. It talked about praising our race.

When I read it, my heart melted that I wanted to look for the person to thank him for saying many nice things about us.

The letter made us remember that we are a chosen race and that we exudes love and compassion as a result of our sacrifices.

A letter reminding us to love more our race and our being a Filipino.

This is from the writings of Dr. David H. Harwell as published in Philippine Daily Inquirer on February 17, 2013 (Sunday) as seen by yours truly in Facebook.

It is worth sharing that I personally share it here in my blog for you - my blog readers.

Anyhow, we have been so blessed to have received countless accolades from different people not from our race. But, it is more lovable and more heartwarming to receive it from someone who expressed his deep connection to us. And that person is Dr. David H. Harwell.  Don't skip read or else you'll miss the full extent of your smile or how fast your heart will melt. THIS IS A MUST READ!

NOTES TO SELF: Focus On The Positive, Recognize Your Shortcomings, Examine Your Core Values and Always Forgive

Jay, I want you to realize that you’re a good person, that your intention is pure.

Your heart breathes compassion. Do not allow yourself to be penetrated by instruments of evil that might ruin the good in you.

Do not be discouraged by people telling you, you’re like this and like that because you know yourself better.

There might be some inaccuracies & inconsistencies in some of your actions but it does not mean you’re defined by it. Never allow anyone to define you for who you are not.

You’re a sensitive guy, caring, and passionate with what you do. Allow it to flourish and outwit the attempts of devil to defile you.

If you have done something wrong unintentionally, learn to repent and forgive. It is because in forgiving you’re enlarging your future and increasing your network of influences.

Most of all, try hard to practice humility in words and actions.

You're a sensible guy and you know your core values.

So FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE, RECOGNIZE YOUR SHORTCOMINGS, EXAMINE YOUR CORE VALUES, and ALWAYS FORGIVE.

It is in your most adverse moment that the good in your heart will shine. Take courage to unleash it and defy the odds of negativity looming around you.

And most of all, when things seem to be too big to handle let go and let God. You can always rest your case to God.

Reminding you,
YOURSELF

Road Mishap - Ten Wheeler Truck Overturned

We are on our way home last night from my wife’s place when something went wrong on the road 20 kilometers away from our place in Dammam. I’m with my brother-in-law and his wife

We passed the “check point” phase smoothly and drove fast when suddenly we need to lower down our speed because the vehicles ahead of us did so. We were wondering what happened far ahead of us that caused the traffic congestion.

It’s quite absurd to think that when you’re in a slight hurry to reach home something unlikely would happen that would test your patience. So we patiently waited while our speed is like a turtle-paced.

Rated BP as in "Baby Patronage": Damien Caleb's Fun Times

I reached home at around 2pm today. Good thing, my driver Dulal was able to speed-up the velocity without being caught on camera in some areas. Dito sa KSA, kung nasa highway ka, kapag nag over speeding ka bigla na lang may magpa-flash na camera on the side and kaboom "huli ka" - And what's the verdict? tumataginting na SAR 900.00 more or less 10k in Php peso. Anyway, it's just a side story.

So dumating ako ng house at 2:10pm. Kagigising lang ng aking cute boy at ng wife ko. Kaya pala di ako sinagot sa text ko while on my way home ako kanina kasi tulog pala silang dalawa. At yun, sa sobrang sabik ng daddy sa cute boy bigla akong lumapit while her mom ay binibihisan siya. Of course, kinailangan kong maglagay ng alcohol gel kasi papagalitan ako ng wifey ko if hahawak ako sa baby ng di naglalagay. My wife is so strict when it comes to hygiene. Understandable kasi she's the "Infection Control Supervisor" ng hospital where she works kaya ganun siya ka strict. Many a times where I was caught not using it kaya maraming beses na din ako nase-sermunan hehehe..sermong may pagmamahal naman hehe (palusot pa)

Procrastination - Are You Guilty Of It?

According to Mr. Google--Procrastination is an act of putting-off doing something habitually. In Psychology it refers to the act of replacing high priority action with task of lower priority.

Have you been guilty of procrastination? I bet we are at some point. It totally sucks right?

I, for one, has fallen culprit of this not so good practice. There are just moments that we just find ourselves doing something that is way out of our priority. That we give more time to other less important things than to those which should be done.

Why Is "Pain The Second Best Thing To God"?

On A Yoga Pose at "Dolphin Beach" facing Bahrain

While lobbying into my heart for some hurtful things that I had encountered recently, I came across just a while ago an FB status of my former co-SFC (now also a CFC like me). I felt I was knocked-out by the very words in it. I felt ashamed of how I somehow treated my situation into like questioning God. But at the very end of it, I just felt His awesome presence in me through this encouraging words. I just feel the need to share it with you guys especially those who are experiencing difficult situation like me. This somehow will assure us of the omnipotent presence of God.

The Art of Leaving - As I View It

Some says life begins at the end of your comfort zone. And I guess I absolutely agree with  it. It is when you're tested in the water that you begin to see how and what life is.

Leaving is a part of one’s journey.

Leaving is seeking better opportunities beyond the realm of present job.

Leaving is believing that there are vast and open spaces for personal growth to discover.

Leaving is missing the opportunity to work again with people you come to see daily in your workplace.

Leaving is by all means the cause of heavy and hard cries and sleepless nights if reasons were motivated by financial stability and better security.

The Poetry Corner - Invisible Appearance Of A Tired Heart

Recently, I have been in a very emotionally-drenching situation. Sometimes, no matter how we project ourselves as a strong person, there are occasions where we're beaten by melancholy. There are those times where we submit ourselves to loneliness, just to feel again that we are human and that we are not as invincible as the superheroes in films. Well, for me it's good though that once in a while you recognize yourself as a plain human with normal emotions and candid reactions to events and situations that are presented to us. Vulnerability is not a bad thing after all. Being one, once in a while helps you re-affirm of your being an earthly creature. And here's what I'm into these past few days. I just transcribed it into a poem. Just read between the lines.
