About Spot-On Feeling, and Of Celebrating Christmas Far From Your Loved Ones: Is Distance Hampering My Mood For Christmas?

I never realized that it’s six days before Christmas. I’ve been drowned with work deadlines and important stuff that my personal countdown has been shy-out by it.

I haven’t even bought any Christmas presents yet. Not even thinking of what to cook comes Christmas Eve.

Sigh!

I’d like to set my mood to be jolly and so homesickness won’t force an entry in my system. But suddenly, I realized that I’m like not feeling the vibe of Christmas.

Is it because of my location? Is it because I can’t see any signs and symbols that would make me remember that it’s Christmas season already? Even I can’t find a plausible explanation about it.

Tongue-tied that I just find myself de-energize prepping-up for the season.

One thing I hate in December is about the bulk of work loading up in my office station. It is year-end which means the word “busy” is keeping an eye on me.

Why am I feeling a bit blue when in fact I should be in a state of euphoria or ecstasy now? Is it the distance that hampers me to truly feel the season?

Whatever it is I am feeling now, I don’t even know. It’s like I’m floating in the air with nothing in my mind..

Pero, ang location naming is different- two hours away ako from them. Umuuwi lang ako every weekend. Kaya everyday kami nagtatawagan and skype just to ease my longing with them.

Embassy ang lugar nila to do gatherings which is bawal ayon sa diplomatic agreement. Kaya mahigpit ngayon at sobrang ingat kami.

Ibubuhos ko nalang ang aking pagkabagot sa Friday kasi may Sports Fest kami and I’m slated to play in the following event: t.tennis, badminton, dart, volleyball, and bowling.

I can prepare “Chicken Cordon Bleu” – may fave menu but I can cook different dishes as well.

Anung relate? wala... basta stay happy lang coz u'r lucky to have your immediate family...

we are all hear to listen so just always share and sulat lang...

we feel you... since busy ka naman sa office, make yourself busy so you own't have time to think of emo stuff...

    don't be sad...

  11. Well, join the club . I believe it is normal for us to feel that way kasi malayo tayo sa homecountry.
    Have a happy christmas though.

  12. Much work and load to do but Christmas is still Christmas.

  13. i hear you pareng Jay honestly I feels the same way,

pero instead of me whining about it iniisip ko na lang di naman all about sakin ang christmas,
its about the birth of our saviour and
from that i was thankful and happy enough

in your case i know how it feels to be in distance with the ones you love,
but then perhaps just take a look of your son i knew he could turn your mood other way around
